I wanted to make an image that looked hypnotic yet poisonous. This dangerous “Amazonian” plant draws the viewers attention into the deadly central spiral modeled from a saw blade. The form evokes a sinister feeling similar to that of a Venus fly trap! Various tones were achieved through the careful use of aquatint.
